»Æ¹ÏÊÓƵ Downtown Bay City and Planetarium is centrally located at the edge of historic Center Avenue. Best known for it's unique building, the 39,000-square-foot facility was built with funds provided by National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).
»Æ¹ÏÊÓƵ Downtown Bay City is conveniently located within walking distance of Wenonah Park, numerous restaurants, coffee houses, shops and the Alice & Jack Wirt Public Library. The facility has six classrooms and a computer lab where Delta offers many general education classes at times that fit your schedule. Getting there is simple, too. Bay Metro buses stop just a block away, and there's easy parking for commuters.
The building was designed to reflect the primary purpose of the facility – to provide a learning environment that fosters an appreciation of the significance, relevance and application of the sciences. A few of the features include: the exterior colors are red and orange to represent the colors of the sun’s gases, the theater's shape represents a rocket exhaust nozzle and the black exterior of the two wings represent the blackness of space.
